Before you see them, you see the traffic police, plain clothes security guards, and lots of cars.
And many times, you don't get to see the VIP.
So it happened again today.
The security guard looked really afraid as he was diverting the traffic. It was as if someone very scary has hit town. I wound down my window and demanded to know if I would be allowed to drive into the building. All I remember was "Quick! The VIP is HERE ALREADY!!!! Drive AWAY!".
I was annoyed. Just because he is VIP, so much resources are deployed for this ONE person. Oh ok, he is VIP. At that moment, I wonder if the security guard (all fussing around the VIP), has ever been half as nice to their loved ones.

Luxe,
I guess that treatment is the same everywhere. Power and money is the drive, he is probably not as important without them.
How right you are! I admit that the feeling of preferential treatment is good. But when it affects others and wastes unnecessary resources, it's a different thing altogether.
It is sad just how most prioritizes money and power.
