So I thought instead of repeating them, I will just put it here to share with all of you!
Actually there's no secret to losing weight. One can lose weight by eating less, but if your body is not toned, you still will not look fabulous enough (and I'm still working hard to be considered as one!). So of course, exercise is the next 'secret' to it.
I never like exercising. Oh well, when I was younger, yes. I was a school basketball player and being in a school where basketball tournaments were its pride, we had rigorous training every alternate days in school (I played forward and my jersey number is 11!!) .
And I was in track & field team in both secondary and JC days where I enjoyed my triple jumps and wearing spike shoes running on track, sprinting.
All these some how gave me a good base to restart my engine again when I suddenly decided to sign up with Fitness First Personal Training.
And I never regret doing it.
Initial scheduling was bad. I kept changing time and skipping it. And then I got frustrated with myself and fixed thrice a week, an hour of personal training. What is different between exercising yourself and getting a Personal Trainer is that the latter watches you to ensure you do the right thing, exposes you to different types of training regime and tests your limit. Unless if you think you are really strong mentally, paying a little more for a PT is really a good option.
A word of caution: Getting a good PT is equally important. I'm lucky to have my PT who has been very encouraging and persistent. It is crucial to work closely with your PT, be frank about what you like and don't like during your training, so that you'd be more encouraged to train. Communication is the key. I told my PT to go hard on me because I've gone through even tougher training.
Besides PT, I also put in a little more effort by climbing the stairs home.
As for diet, I cut down alot on carbo. I once read this article about losing more carbo than taking in for each day in order to lose weight. This, I agree.
I take 2 teaspoon of rice / noodles for lunch and dinner with the usual dishes. Good thing that I'm not the type who snacks very often, and I usually only eat when I'm hungry. I guess this discipline also helps in controlling my diet as well.
Don't get me wrong, I do not go hungry and feel faint every day. I eat only what is enough, and chew slowly. An article once said there is lag time when your system is really full to sending the message to the brain. That explains why usually by the time you are full, you are REALLY full.
I do snack occassionally (sometimes one full pack of chips!), but that's very seldom. These are little rewards for being so good girl in my dieting and exercise regime.
Now that I'm more toned, I feel more confident when I face the camera, the mirror, my friends and strangers. And certainly, I'm even more confident trying on more variety of clothes.
So my friends, these are my little 'secrets'. I'm just like you. So I believe you can make it too, perhaps even better!
