I've always love these ol' fashion cakes.
They were The cakes of the 80s, and because Smiling Orchid was just downstairs then, I always had nice cakes whenever I wanted.

Fast forward to today. I've moved, and now cakes have evolved to be more modern. Gone are the old creamy cakes with 'paper flowers' and jellies.

Frankly, I also love these modern cakes, especially those from The Patissier. The Meringue! Oh how I love it!

But some how, these old fashion cream cakes still hold a place in my heart.
