On 30 Nov 2007, just as I was busy rushing to the airport, getting all excited about my all girls trip to Phuket, I didn't know on that very day, my JC classmate passed away. Now as I recall, I had just dreamt about a falling tooth last Monday. People say it symbolizes death... and I was still feeling all weird about it then.
I only received an sms from another classmate asking if I knew anything about her this night, that I came to know about her passing. She had only 3 days of wake, and the last farewell was yesterday.
Irene was not close to me in JC. She was always the chatty one in class. My impression of her was that she's the 'ang moh' type, and dared to speak her mind.
The last time we met was at a JC mate's wedding 2 years back. All other JC mates' weddings during the next 2 years were missed - either I was away, or I had prior engagements. So I missed that eventful wedding dinner when all the others knew she was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia.
During that last wedding dinner we met, she was still the same as she was like in JC, with her nice dimples, and fair skin...and so she shall be remembered, as the last time I met her.
