20 years ago, I recall standing at corridor waiting to go into the classroom. I was from the 'A'Class then for my first 3 years in Primary School, but got transfered into 'B' Class (which was a downgrade in those days due to my results).
I still recall as I stepped into the classroom, it was full of unfamiliarity. I didn't feel good that I was going to be in B class, and I looked at my exclassmates in the A class in embarassment.
Fast forward to 20 years later, now as I look back, I never regret going to B class and knowing those classmates. They are now my longest lasting friends for 20 years, we still keep in touch, and have gatherings. And I felt most real in my skin when I'm with them, cos I always feel that they are so down to earth.
Just this morning, we had our gathering again. Updates on each other and chats, no one was boastful about their personal achievements in life. My friend brought those autographs we wrote in our primary school days, and I just can't help reminisce about those times...
The world of banking is so so up in the 'heavens'. Owning big cars, private properties, and money.. all these, while provide luxury, somehow, have lost a certain element of genuity. These gains in life, while it appear to be an envy for some, is something which can never replace true friendships in life. That's why I still make time and look forward to every gathering, and try to be present for all.
It's a pity that my alma meter is closing down soon. Can't wait to go back to take some pics for some sweet memories.
