Some Tips on Hosting

Love to host friends at home?

Besides the usual cookfare that can frustrates the Host, another alternative of course is to arrange for buffet.

I never really prefer buffet because the selections are often standard, no matter how premium a buffet is.

Just yesterday I had some great company.

Unlike the usual stuff I always did (I often cook everything!), I decided to take a little shortcut and got ready marinated stuff home to prepare. All meat's marinated and cut to size, so what I needed to do was only to pan fry them, or throw them into the oven to cook!

If you like to show off your culinary skills, perhaps just one or two signature dishes that you are good at is sufficient, compliment it with other dishes you love simply by ordering from your favourite restaurants (just call and place an order and pick up! Saves time!).

Good food cannot be served without nice flatware. I love serving my guests with nice flatware but when there are too many guests, it makes more sense to get plastic ones so that you don't worry about breaking the dishes when you wash them or that they can simply be thrown away after use.

Recently, I also chanced upon this website where they sell all sorts of good-looking party wares - www.lewistool.com. I had placed an order and they are on its way to me!

More premium supermarkets like Jason's Supermarket stocks great variety of disposable flatwares. They even have nice plastic glass-looking glasses for wines and champagnes so the problem of seeing your favourite Riedel break will no longer happen.

For fresh-water people, add slices of lemons, oranges, strawberries or even mint leaves to give your ice-cold water a zest of fruity taste.

And of course, remember to prepare lots of ice!!

Enjoy hosting!
