2009 - 2010, the busiest and eye-opening year of my life

It's not the end of the year yet but I thought I should just do recap on what happened the past one year as the bank is approaching its First Anniversary.

When I first agreed to the offer in Jan 09, I didn't expect that the challenges and demands would be so challenging. As I start preparing for Budget 2011, I realize my approach is no longer the optimistic me. And to me, i think it's a good sign. It shows a different level of maturity and more proper thought-through process for my business.

However in the past year, my temper got shorter and hotter. Because many are busy with only fire-fighting and left with very little time (and some, efforts) to think through a good solution to resolve the pain. So my temper got shorter each time the same problem occurred and no one seemed interested with a proper solution for it.

But after a lunch session with a senior few days back, I learnt to see things from a different perspective: form allies and charm everybody so as to get things done properly. It's not going to be easy I must say, and for the past year I'd done some stuff which were not politically correct, but now with these new insights, I realize I just got to do things differently for the sake of myself and my staff.

I know i can do it. To quote her "use your RM charm on them!"
