I don't have the most bags, but like most girls, I do some homework before I decide on that bag to buy. But of course, there were times when a must-have just appear in front of me when I happen to be just "shopping around".
After wedding, I moved some of my bags to our home. I've asked the designer to do up a little bag corner so that I can store them well.
While it's always exciting to smell fresh new bags, it is also a headache when it comes to storing them. My bags often smell of damp and some of them do get mould specks. It's saddening whenever I see the deteriorated conditions of my bags.
I've tried sending them to be cleaned professionally (by a store at Far East Plaza) but my LV Monogram Mini Lin in Cherry got faded and I never dare try another cleaner again. Until recently I chanced upon Colour Wash. I was there with the intention to get my fabric CD sprayed with water-repellant and saw a cleaned LV Monogram Mini Lin Speedy which I have.
And I was impressed. The bag is as good as new, the blue colour did not fade even a bit!
So then on, they become my official bag cleaning company (but not for my Lindy yet though).
For those who have the same problem as me with their bags, I think it is good to get a trusted cleaner for your bags. It is also important to bring them out to air frequently. Another way is to store them with a dehumidifier so as to ensure the environment they are in is as dry as possible. And don't forget the stuffings which comes with your new bag! Use them to stuff your bags to ensure they do not go out of shape!
You've spent money on them. It's only right to spend a little more time to maintain them to give them more mileage!
