Lonely

I've been thinking. Being in the management is lonely.

My friends and I were having lunch last week and this topic came up. We observed those in the upper management only have themselves (and their personal friends) for lunch. It's not possible to pally with any one of your subordinate in case other subordinates think that you are a unfair boss.

That is the reason why when you lunch with your boss, it's usually something they need to discuss with you about your work, or that either the boss or you is new to the organisation and it's some get-to-know-you session.

So we concluded it's really quite lonely up there.

Perhaps you are right. I imagine too much and think too highly of myself.

This entry was supposed to be in saved draft and not edited yet. It was a conclusion my friends and I had while having lunch.

Maybe your boss often have lunches with his people. So your thinking is different.

I can understand your misery, what you said especially true on the bigger office where politics does exist. Probably one of the solution is to be friendly with everyone but not get too close to anyone in particular.

JH: It's not me, but I think when it's my turn, I'd get used to it. Life is all about getting used to, isn't it?!

Your tea's on their way.... =)
