Notice their road signs - Cyclists and Pedestrains share the footpath
A beautiful place (house?!) at Sutton
Emily & Sem's little garden. So nice! Our patio is only half of it!
Greens direct from their garden.
Sean and I checked out the Sutton Town, where Emily and Sem live. We've noticed the signs used by the Britons are so cultured and polite. Pity I didn't manage to take a picture of a typical notice. They use 'POLITE NOTICE' as compared to our 'WARNING'. For accidents, they use 'INCIDENTS' and jams, they use 'DELAYS' and 'QUEUES'. Somehow you do not feel as stressed seeing these words as compared to ours!
As my usual practice each time I visit a country, I would try their MacDonald's. And so I did with their Big Breakfast. Sausages are made of British pork, tasted really yummy (our local ones are made of chicken) and their harsh browns are so fresh, less oily and less salty. Coffee was fabulous. Ours is so pale in comparison, really.
They've got Marks & Spencer, Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and all other big and smaller shops. Sean got all excited at the supermarket and ended by buying groceries and returned to Emily's place to whip up chicken rice for all of us for the evening.
In-between hours were spent updating my blog while he cooks, TV and also sneaking time out again to catch Marks & Spencer and Topshop, but terribly disappointing. Except that now I know Marks & Spencer here is like a supermarket selling even eggs and flowers!
We'd be checking out Central London tomorrow. Can't wait. With GBP falling (yes, I do follow currencies still hor!), it may give me an extra excuse to shop again.
