I was at HSBC TreeTop Walk last week.
Before the trip, I have always thought that the bridge would be very long. Yes, it's LONG indeed, not the bridge, but the way to the bridge though.
It's a long walk at 2.6Km one-way, towards the TreeTop Walk, and the stretch of the bridge is only about 150m long. And then another 2.6Km back to where you start off, because it's a one-way only route.
My opinion of the TreeTop walk? A tad disappointing. The bridge is just not high up enough (it's among the canopies of the tree, but definitely not TOP of the Trees), it's quite short, and the bridge can be slippery on wet weather.
You are not suppose to use the mobile phone on wet days, and definitely not encouraged to do the walk. I'd expect the ranger who is at the beginning of the bridge to have the authority to disallow the walk should they find it dangerous, rather than allowing the walk even after the warning. My point is, since you know it's dangerous, why allow?
Nevertheless, I'd still encourage people to try it. It's free, the walk's relaxing, and you get to see so many types of flora and fauna. It also gives you the chance to talk to your love ones while walking, not forgetting the calories you're losing!
Oh yes! It has the clearest stream in Singapore too!
